Trained at Autelier Pro Makeup Academy, I am committed to staying abreast of the latest beauty trends, and regularly attend workshops led by renowned makeup artists worldwide to further upgrade my skills.
I love exploring new cosmetic products and enjoy experimenting with different makeup techniques. You could say I'm a bit of a cosmetics collector – I often joke that there’s no need to control my spending and justify my purchases using my job as an Makeup Artist 😝
Another hobby of mine is traveling around the world. Currently based in Singapore, I am readily available to embark on journeys for work opportunities.
How we began…
My journey into skincare and beauty began during my schooling days, driven by my own struggles with sensitive, acne-prone skin. I embarked on an extensive exploration of skincare, testing countless products and was known as the "beauty guru" among my friends and family.
Despite societal pressures leading me down the typical path of pursuing a degree and corporate job initially, I eventually decided to follow my passion & did a mid-career switch to become a Hair & Makeup Artist.
Never regretted it since then!
How our brand name came about…
Many makeup artists name their brand after themselves, but my English name “Joanne” was too common. I wanted a unique, short and easy to remember brand name.
Hence, ZOA Makeup was derived from my Chinese name "Zu Er", which is pronounced as "Zoe-yi" in Cantonese and "Jo-ah" in Korean. ZOA combines both pronunciations into a distinctive brand name.
